Third Trimester here I am!

Katie - February 2009

Ok so there is still a part of me that gets a tad offended when people ask me when I'm due. "How do they know for sure I'm pregnant?" Then all I have to do is look in a mirror and then realize too I'm walking with a severe waddle (due to chronic back pain.) Ok so maybe it's obvious.
I'll tell you one thing, Thanksgiving when your preggers is fantastic! You're all sitting there wishing you had jeans with elastic waist bands. We can let our bellys hang right out there and everyone just thinks its adorable! Man I'm gonna miss being pregnant!

It's a baby sister...

And yes, she has a name, but it's our little secret... Our littlest girl was being a bit uncooperative during our recent ultrasound and barely showed her face (no shortage of pictures of the bum area though...) This was a rare profile shot, and I definitely think she looks like a little Nyhan in this one. We did have the 3D images taken, but once again, she held up her little hand in front of her face... like father like daughter.

Alise is beyond thrilled to have a little sister! And, well, Korey, equally as excited, has turned into an emotional puddle, and he fully admits it (as tear rolls down his cheek)... Honestly, everything makes him cry! Baby clothes, commercials, figurines in stores, even his own private thoughts... Shouldn't this be me at this point? I can't help but giggle a little... I've rarely seen him this emotional and I am afraid to show him anything baby related for fear of the waterworks being turned on again and me having to control my chuckle. Overall though, I think it's pretty darn cute.

girls, girls, girls!

Well here she is. Everything at my 6 month check up went well. I can never get over the scale starting to tip. She is a girl, no question..ok, ok, bring on the pink. (Even though it makes me gag.) I loved all the boy clothes, I just can bring myself to buy anything girly. Poor child, she'll be wearing her brothers hand-me down until she can fight me on it. which happens sooner than you think. She is getting active and very big! (and so am I) I did buy her a dress today, Lauren would be so proud.

Bed Rest...

A few months ago, I was told that pregnancy compromises your immunity and that I will catch everything that crosses my path. Honestly, I rolled my eyes at this... I hadn't been sick in forever, this WOULD NOT be me. Fast forward to me sitting in bed as I type this, literally coughing all over the screen and surrounded by used tissues, soup bowls and Popsicle sticks. I have been sick in some form for 3+ weeks, feel asleep in a public place on Tuesday, out of work for 4 days now and have been in bed for 3 of those. This really sucks, I feel like I can slightly empathize with those women who are on bed rest for their pregnancies, I seriously cannot imagine doing one more day of this! I'm going a little nuts.... If I see the John & Kate plus 8 commercial again, I might... well... have to turn off the TV.

Although, on a positive note I slept in until 11 this morning, have discovered online scrabble, have had the time to update this blog, and have been exposed to deliciously awful daytime TV. I am a little more freaked out about taking medicine for relief (although my Dr said that the antibiotics I'm on are fine for me and baby)... Korey has been pretty tolerant of me... I sent him out for Cloroseptic spray at 10pm last night and he was so kind to get it for me (begrudgingly), he brought me Panara soup yesterday for lunch and made me dinner the night before (yum, soup and burned grilled cheese.. just like Mom used to make in the old days). I kid... sort of. The saddest part was not being able to put Alise to bed the other night and seeing how sad she was that our nightly ritual was interrupted. She ended up climbing into bed with me later and put her arm around me.... still my cutie pie.

On a side note... we find out this coming Tueday (11/11) what we are having, stay tuned for the news!

6 Months!

Katie - February 2009

SO I guess the reason Kristi and I aren't so great at posting anything on this shall we say desolate blog site might actually be a good thing. It means that there is not much going on with our pregnancies, and all of you that have been pregnant know that is a great thing..nothing to report! I should give you something..I'm feeling good, tired, still but good. Having some minor back issues, normal. She's kicking a lot. Mostly from 9 to 10 pm she goes nuts which is fun for me because I'm usually just watching tv and I have time to sit and feel her flip around in there, and so does Scott. I'm headed to the DR on Thursday, I can't remember if I have to drink the Orange gunk this week or not? They will check one more time with the ultrasound to make sure she's a she. She wasn't giving up the goods that easily the first time..good girl! Like I said otherwise pretty uneventful. I'll get a picture up soon I swear!!
